Weight Loss is Mandatory

You know how I love me some Snejana.

Can You See The Distinction?

Anna Wintour

With her razor sharp bob, slim build and sunglasses - which she reportedly wears to shield her eyes from the fashion shows' flashbulbs - Anna Wintour is the fashion industry's ultimate icon.

Born in Britain, she started her career in 1970, working in the fashion department at Harpers & Queen in London. Six years later, she moved to New York to join sister publication Harper's Bazaar as its Fashion Editor. After a stint as Senior Editor at New York magazine, controlling the title's fashion and lifestyle coverage, Wintour was named Creative Director of American Vogue in 1983. British Vogue brought her home to London three years later. She stayed for almost two years as Editor in Chief and oversaw the memorable November 1987 issue, which carried a photograph of Christy Turlington shot by David Bailey in Calvin Klein on the cover.

In 1988, she rejoined American Vogue as Editor-in-Chief, leaving her deputy Liz Tilberis to succeed her. In that capacity, she has helped raise over $10 million for AIDS charities since 1990, by organising New York's 7th on Sale fundraising benefits.

Like her image, Wintour's daily regime is legendary. Now based in Manhattan, she wakes up at 5.45am every morning, to go to play tennis, before being professionally made-up, coiffed and chauffeured to the offices of American Vogue.Though one of New York's most prolific party throwers, she never stays at any one event for more than the first ten minutes, preferring to be in bed by 10pm.

Wintour, the daughter of Charles Wintour, former Editor of the Evening Standard, has two children by her first husband, Dr David Schaffer, Chief of Child Psychiatry at Columbia Presbyterian.

Oh, and I love this.

Meeting New Faces

So..
I've been thinking alot about my career, and the best way for me to try and handle it in the most professional mannor. I'm really motivated to take this seriously, and I'm so excited everytime that I meet with new models and other industry types. I just met with an awesome girl in regards to representing her, and I've come to realize that I'm such a people person, and I'm so talkitive, when talking to people with similar interestes and things like that.

blah blah blah, this was just a random rant.
I have a runway show to go to on Friday thats going to be amazing. A red carpet mixed with a few celebs and some amazing (AH MAY ZING) clothes is sure to equal a great time.

I'll post more about it before/after and maybe a picture or two.

Currently Reading: Fashion @ The Edge.

Tonite I will begin reading [Fashion at the Edge, By. Caroline Evans] Here's a little more information on the book.

[Recent experimental fashion has a dark side, a preoccupation with representations of death, trauma, alienation, and decay. This intriguing book looks closely at this strand of fashion design in the 1990s, exploring what its disturbing themes tell us about consumer culture and contemporary anxieties. Caroline Evans analyzes the work of experimental designers, the... More images of fashion photographers, and the spectacular fashion shows that developed in the final decade of the twentieth century to arrive at a new understanding of fashion's dark side and what it signifies. Fashion at the Edge considers a range of cutting-edge contemporary fashion in unprecedented depth and detail, including the work of such current designers as John Galliano, Alexander McQueen, Hussein Chalayan, and Viktor & Rolf. Contrasting images by photographers like Steven Meisel, Nick Knight, and Juergen Teller are also reviewed. Drawing on diverse perspectives from Marx to Walter Benjamin, Evans shows that fashion stands at the very center of the contemporary, and that it voices some of Western culture's deepest concerns]

After I'm done reading the book, I will post a review along with any personal commentary and notes that I take while reading the book. I look foward to gaining some in depth knowledge on the fashion industry.

The Black Devil Wears Prada...

I would love to be his assistant, other than the fact that hes not too easy on the eyes. Here's a little more about Sir. Andre Leon Talley.

[The unstoppable, unforgettable André Leon Talley, Vogue magazine’s editor at large, embodies the essence of the American spirit—the self-made man who has risen through the ranks of the elite high fashion industry with subtle perseverance, incomparable elegance, and searing wit over the past three decades. “Style transcends race, class, and time,” Talley explains; his inestimable influence can be seen everywhere, from the runways and the glossies to the backstage parties and the streets.

.L.T. 365+ is the only book to bring you the most illustrious players of our day living the life without thinking twice, all posing for Talley’s camera—legendary designers Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Miuccia Prada, Oscar de la Renta, Manolo Blahnik, Diane von Furstenberg, Tom Ford, Donatella Versace, Stella McCartney, Stephen Jones, and Zac Posen; famed models Iman, Naomi Campbell, Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Sophie Dahl, Stella Tennant, and Carmen Kass; superstar drag queens Lypsinka and Lady Bunny; hip hop icons Russell Simmons, Sean “P. Diddy” Combs, and Jay-Z; reigning divas Liza Minnelli, Diana Ross, Patti LaBelle, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Queen Latifah, and Boy George; among many others. Unvarnished, unairbrushed, and full of love, A.L.T. 365+ reveals a world where style is as style does.

André Leon Talley received his M.A. in French studies from Brown University. He joined Vogue magazine in 1983 as fashion news director and served as creative director from 1988 to 1995. After living in Paris for a number of years, he returned to Vogue in 1998 as editor at large. The author of A.L.T.: A Memoir (Villard, 2003), Talley was nominated for an Emmy Award for his weekly segment on Metro TV’s “Full Frontal Fashion” called Vogue’s Talley. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Savannah College of Art and Design in Savannah, Georgia where a Lifetime Achievement Award has been named for him. He lives in Hastings-on-Hudson, New York.]

His book [A.L.T. 365+] is one of the books I plan to read before summers end.. he's a very inspirational figure to me, not only because of his involvement in the high fashion industry, but also because he's over come so many seemingly difficult racial barriers, both in the industry, as well as in high society, that are truly eye opening to me. Though perhaps my dreams arnt to be known world wide, or to hang out with Karl Lagerfeld, or to have a huge presents in the worlds biggest fashion magazine, but I would love nothing more than to be on the top of the modeling industry, working, going to shows and parties, living my life, happily, and always learning and traveling and hopefully having someone I love to come home too.. but thats another issue.

My Muse

I cant decide.. and I love the white one, BUT, white and me dont mesh well, because I throw things, haha..

Snejana Onopka

Snejana Onopka is currently one of my favorite faces. The only thing I would have her work on if I were representing her is her walk. But thats something thats minor and could easily be corrected within a few hours, with the right person teaching her (moi, lol) Either way, shes gorgeous, and her recent YSL campaign is amazing, I'm searching online for the image of her sitting ont he table with the YSL Muse (which I'm ordering with my next check to carry my things to work in). Here are some images, enjoy.

With this blog, I thee..

So, I've decided to atart a blog, a blog about models, fashion, events and parties, clubs, and everything inbetween. All of the events will be events that I either attend, or have a first hand account of, nothing tabliod like or stuff that you can just look up on the net anyway. My opinions about models, fashion and other fashionible involved topics will all be based on my experience in the modeling industry, and my developing passion for fashion.

Whether or not anyone even reads this is of no concern to me, its more so a way for me to sort of focus my attention on certin opinions on models and the fashion world in general, to refer back to for later reference, and to see how my personal style, and change in model preferences evolve with time.

Anyway, enjoy.
