What other perfect way to re-start my blog entries than to restart it with the cover of one of my favorite magazines, with my FAVORITE Super Model shot by one of my favorite designers? Could I ask for more?

This past year has been such an amazing year for me, from my trips to Miami to see the best friend of my life, Tavo.. random trips to Las Vegas, NYC and DC to my three week long stay in Barbados/Mykono's with my formerly special someone, White Party maddness, Coachella and all of my amazing friends who made it from LA to my house for the weekend and Los Angeles Pride, I have gotten the chance to experience life with no restrictions.

It has truly been the year that I dreamt of when I first agreed to make it the year of travel and new experiences. It has also been my 2nd month of continued sobriety, which I have nothing less than amazing feelings about. It's not that I went out of my way to make this personal decision, it just sort of happened when I left for Greece.. My body looks amazing! I never knew how easy it was to have a 6 pack, haha.. Between my 630am runs and my 7pm swims, I'm totally in the swing of taking optimal care of myself.

Whats next? I'm finally on my way back to LA, full time. With my new mind set and dedicated life choices I am so excited to give my life another shot. Between looking for college options, moving in with someone who holds a special place in my heart, and finally having a full out lust for life I feel like once again I am ready and willing to except all the great and amazing things that await my tomorrows.

So here's to all things great, tonight, tomorrow and the next day =)

It was a recent shoot with Miguel Reveriego for Numero #110 that made me realize she is one of those girls who grabs me and draws me in.. typically a sign of a star like other girls I've predicted such as Natasha Poly, Lily D and Anja Rubik..

The show was NOTHING without Gisele and Karolina K.. nothing. BUT with Anja in it, I did smile. I LOVE her... and didn't the girl who won the contest look identical to Rosie Huntington Whiteley? YES.

The shows lacking the LUXURY & Glamor that it once had, with the VERY BEST girls (who just so happen to cost more to book... No $$$$$, No Glamazon) The runway and the materials used on the outfits (most, but not all) proved that VS is on a HUGE budget cut ( Unlike Hermes sales up 10% during the "recession" ) They even cut the $5 Million Dollar bra down to $1 Mil..

Sad.. a show that I have on DVD's as gifts from friends ( THAT's how much I loved the shows ) I've stopped watching it with as much enthusiasm as I used too, and this year is the first year that since 2006 since I've watched it on TV on time.

blah blah the show was whatever &)% of the girls were whatever, and i was not liking the concert set up rather than front row being where it should be...

(The picture above is from my FAVORITE year of the show, 2002.. the girls really fucking OWNED the runway, Gisele was fucking MIND BLOWING... and when PETA stormed the stage she busted right threw them like they weren't even there, it was Ah-FUCKING-MAZING.)

This shoot of Natasha Poly for MUSE is one of my FAVORITES EVER. I was just going to post an "Image of the Day" but I had to post the whole shoot. From the eye of Sølve Sundsbø and styled by Marie Chaix. Entitled "Super Trooper" there is nothing soft about this shoot, my favorite detail being the Geisha makeup applied to the back of her neck.. and the Chanel masked robber shirt..

Sorry I've been lagging lately, I have had a lot of doctors issues going on and have been sick. I'm slowly doing better, Thank God for Fashion, it's what keeps me going. I've also been super busy working on my jewelry line, soo happy about the progress I've made with the help of so many of my amazing friends and my family. I've opt'd to posting two of my favorite cover's that Gemma Ward has done in the past rather than recently emerged pictures taken of the model shopping in NYC. Her career was such a whirlwind fantasy that it is so hard to believe that one of fashions darlings has decided to retire. But after recently seeing pictures of her, its no wonder why as she was obviously suffering from serious eating issues during the length of her career.

Her recent paparazzi pictures show her in her full figured skin and it's ALMOST as shocking as when I first learned that one of my personal favorite Victoria Secret girls was stricken with a serious thyroid problem (Karolina Kurkova) Her beauty was unmistakable (regardless of the constant comparisons to Sasha Pivovarova)and she was the first girl to start the "bug eye" trend in the modeling industry. I hope she finds the balance she was seeking when she made the decision to retire so early.. and hopefully some sort of a healthier looking weight balance as well.

I Spy Dior..

This Springs Dior collection is amazing, inspired by cinematic day dreams of Lauren Bacall, a former client of the house. It reminds me of of a Spy Girl ala "Femme Noir-esk", super sleek & sexy, sophisticated and powerful yet girly. From the python platform wedges to the structured waist jackets.. This collection is 110% ready to wear, which is so rare for the typical RTW collections from Mister Galliano..

The play on lingerie and the Spies trusty trench coat, is one the of main reasons I love this collection. John is pure genius, who never ceases to amaze me.. Feminine and fabulously executed this line is sure to please Dior's clients as well as shine editorially.

The gowns from this collection oozed the typical sex appeal of Dior, meshing a flesh pink corset and a long draped mint green sequin-sprinkled skirt, a chantilly smothered basque and black ruffled skirt, and a vamp red satin gown.. Capturing the romantic essence of Dior couture while making it RTW.

Runway to the Sea. Proenza Schouler Sp 2010

The boys of Proenza Schouler brought a whimsical look to the runway, with a fresh and young ocean inspired collection for Spring 2010. From amazing tie-dyes that resemble fish in the sea to a play on the board shorts turned into pants. Great tailored jackets provided a hint of sporty-ness while the tank dresses, shirt dresses (super super SHORT) and colorful baby dolls evoked a fun and flirty feeling..

Shoes were super cute wedge-heel woven sandals that almost looked like waves or fish.. I thought the collection was super cute and loved the use of colors mixed with the masculinity of the board short inspired pants.. and Lazaro and Jack aren't too hard on the eyes either..

Lanvin Spring RTW 2010

Alber Elbaz's Spring collection was one of the most amazing shows of the season. With an amazing play on textures, draping and sheer brilliance. The show took place in an industrial space on the out skirts of Paris, with a runway that was said to have been the longest ever. There was an abundance of colors like pink, salmon, peach, and vermilion as well as a dash of extraordinary fine leather and of course the staples of black and gray.

Accessories were STUNNING. From the BEAUTIFUL rope snakes, the large bib necklaces and gigantically over sized chains there necklaces were nothing short of AMAZING with bracelets equally as fabulous. Pops of color and drama from the jewelry pulled the looks of the collection together full circle for me..

Purses and shoes were elegant, and not super over the top, jewel encrusted clutches and smaller hand bags. Shoes were kept simple with anklet details in black & python as well as black and nude leather. They didn't seem as high as most shoes on the runway as of current, which wasn't bad, but would have made this collection even more mind boggling for me..

Lanvin has always been one of the most expensive looking houses for me, the sense of Parisian style and elegance reminds me of what my definition of real glamor is..

The Reign of Balmain.. Spring 2010..

Balmain, Balmain, Balmain. I die every season. The Spring 2010 show just took place today at 3:oo pm in Paris at the Intercontinental Paris Le Grand Hotel. This season the collection reminded me of a reference to Joan of Arc and "dirty battle fields ancient" Greece, especially with the seemingly makeup free models sent down the runway with wind swept hair.

The house took a drastic turn from 80's Glitz to a more grungy dirty glam look.. Shoes seem to be reminiscent of Alexander Wang's boots from his Fall 2009 collection.. The strong shoulders are still present, which I LOVE and the pieces are still shiny slam via lamé & shiny black leather as well as sequins.

Jackets retained the strong shoulders and jeans that were acid washed and ripped last season are now either muted in tone or full length metallic.. and there's the addition of cut off denim short shorts as well..

In my personal opinion "Balmainia" as some are calling it (due it the double in sales since 2006)) is a clear indicator of what today's fashion lovers are going gaga over.. From the $2,000 jeans to the $9,900 jackets its no wonder why I still wonder if there's still a "financial crisis" or not.. for me.. there isn't one.. and if I were a girl, I'd be in the hospital with "Balmain-ia"..

Wow, I'm at a loss for words in regards to my excitement towards the Spring RTW 2010 collection for Versace. The BOLD and SEXY approach to this collection is very reminiscent to the old days of this always amazingly sexy house.

It's youthful and and fresh style made me make a connection, while watching shows with my own music choice, that this collection would be a dead ringer for my personal wardrobe choices for the Clueless sequel everyone is gabbing about.

The collection is also amongst my top favorite picks for this Springs shoes, from the amazing booties, to the strappy sandals, paired with wood and and metallic silver accent on the heels, the shoes take a very futuristic turn which makes the neon colors from the looks totally cohesive, bringing full circle what I like to call, Clueless Chic..

Its by far my favorite shows from Milan this season..

DEATH via. Model Finale..

Natasha Poly KILLS IT at the 8:29 point in the show for Dolce & Gabbana's Spring RTW 2010 Collection. The model finale sent me into one of my moments of being completely speechless, whilst watching this show for the first time.

I had heard the excited rants of many people in attendance of the show about the closing, because you know my first question after "Who Opened?" is "Who Closed?"...

Finally, a shoot where I actually felt like Stam showed some A game. I'm typically not a huge fan of her's, actually, I've grown to detest her after seeing her at a party where she was wearing sandals and the bottoms of her feet were BLACK, lol.

Ok.. So I know I've been quoted as saying that I think Lara Stone is hideous.. But with her new dark locks I do feel that I see a beauty in her that I once dismissed. I know that she's huge, but something about her look was missing for me. When she was shot for a story that had a soft under tone, I just couldn't see it fitting properly, her look was HARSH and not my my tastes.

The $300Billion Dollar Lady in The September Issue.

With the New York premier happening as we speak, I couldnt help but make today's posting about the much awaited 'real life Devil Wear's Prada', The September Issue.
I can not wait to see this movie, Opening in New York on August 28th and in Los Angeles on September 11th.

I watched The Devil Wear's Prada ELEVEN times in theaters, and admit to buying two bootleg copies from Downtown and then the official DVD when it was released, and I'm not a movie person, I loved it that much. So my anxiety for the opening day of this film is even more insane.

I do wish, that the actual September of Vogue for this year had a better cover. Charlize Theron is looking a little lackluster and had a very unattractive look about her, I'm a little saddened by this choice. I do feel with the release of the movie that the cover should have been even more spectacular.

Thankfully, some of the issues editorials have been leaked and I can say that they are nothing short of fabulous. I will be posting some of them this week..

The 2008 Model of The Year Winner couldn't have made a bigger mistake in regards to her career in my opinion. My favorite model (it's probably safe for me to say, of all time) Natasha Poly, shines front and center (or off set) in Gucci's new campaigns featuring other top names such as Freja Beha Erichsen, Myf Shepherd, Dree Hemingway, Anja Rubik, Jacquetta Wheeler, and Raquel Zimmermann.

Something about her look in these shots makes me take more notice to her than anyone else, from the somber, "The Ring-ish" look on her face to her amp'd up mega blonde locks, she seems to jump from the image screaming, M-O-N-E-Y. (notice her hands are planted firmly at her sides?)

Come on, seriously.. this one is an obvious, but for this week's "Want It Wednesday's" is a classic through and through, the Hermé's Birkin. I personally prefer the 50cm, but they make it from 20-50cm's..

I'm a full on animal lover, but.. I hate reptiles.. so with that in mind, I would LOVE to see a albino CROC Birkin, wouldn't that be the hottest thing ever.. I really loved the look of Lanvin's Fall 2009 collections. With a bit of forties flair paired with influences of Parisian style, I found this collection to be very glam. Fabulous ruching, strong sexy suits, all paired with full lengthen black leather gloves, showcased the Lanvin woman as strong and powerfully confident.

Bag's were done in a classic shapes with fabulous materials like croc and silk with amazing embellishments. The use of fur was in heavy rotation, from amazing stoles to full waist length coats completing the glamorous ensemble.

Accessories were HUGE, from very angular, geometric pieces to bold, rounded & stacked neck hugging pieces studded with enormous simulated diamonds and pearl accents in an array of sizes. I LOVE the jewelry, some of the boldest pieces I've seen so far for the Fall 2009 season.

Shoes were kept simple in shape, with various different heel shapes with metallic accents on them. Booties, caged toe heel's and simple classic pumps as well as a pair of thigh high boots with a platform toe.All together I feel like the collection was very well executed (duh). It exuded the a strength and confidence that is very appealing in today's shaky economy.

uHhHh, U've Got Ant's On Ya' Face..?

So as part of 'Want It, Wednesdays' I've decided to show one of the things I personally want really, really badly, Grey Ant 'Status' over size wayfarers. I scoured the net relentlessly trying to find the picture of Pete Wentz that I saw in a random magazine while at a doctors appointment with Mama Del'Accort, as well as asking everyone I knew for the names of brands that currently make HUGE glasses that wears in L.A., I know, what a broad question..

Seen on anyone from Beyonce to Lohan and countless others, I DIGGGGG these glasses. I love my glasses big, and I've been going at least a year or two without a pair of sunglasses due to the fact that I'm SO picky about which glasses possess all the traits I require to feel comfortable wearing them, and not feeling like I look like a dB (douche bag).

Currently on back order on NewHighMart.com, these glasses are quite popular, but that doesn’t sway my decision to finally purchase a pair of glasses that I feel will fit my big fat face perfectly.

Available in black, clear with silver lenses, red with gold lenses (on newhighmart.com) I've also seem them in tortoise (on Erin Wasson), which I really want, also white and a darker gray-ish clear. Until I can find the tortoise, I'm guessing I'll be snagging the black ones once their available.

Balanced on Balenciaga's...

With Balenciaga being one of my top picks for shoes, as far as shoes from a design house, I couldn’t help but write my first posting about the shoes that I'm currently obsessed with. Nicolas Ghesquière's Fall 09 collection was a mix of beautifully draped silk skirts and amazingly tailored tops and jackets. I found it to be very soft and delicate but still strong and exuding some sort of masculine strength..

But back to the shoes, god the shoes, from the fabulously draped suede side sash to the rubber sole inserts and rounded arch at the heel, these shoes had so many different elements that were both feminine and masculine. The rounded heel arch gave the shoe a very unique profile while the suede sash added a touch of feminine delicacy. The rubber used on the sole of the shoe looks as if it would provide the lucky girl wearing them with added traction and perhaps added comfort for extended wear during a night out.

My favorite out of the collection is most definitely the suede cage bootie with the side sash and second being the knit jersey bootie, in any of the color selections. Another option is the suede and stingray sandal which is cute with the skirts while I feel like the bootie would be best paired with a skinny pant or leggings, but shit, I'd wear them with almost anything.. You will most definitely be seeing future postings featuring amazing shoes from Balenciaga, ever since Ghesquière's creative take over of the house, I have been nothing short of enraptured with each and every new collection.

ALSO I'll be doing Shoes & Shows on Sundays and Talk Talk Tuesdays. Alexander Wang's bio would normally be seen on Tuesdays and this entry seen on Sundays, but since I just recently decided to make this change I decided to improvise.

Undoubtedly one of my favorite new designers, Alexander Wang has certainly taken the industry by storm. At the age of 24, the CFDA Fashion Award nominee is quite the inspiration. He moved to NYC from his hometown of San Francisco at the age of 18 and attended Parsons School of Design; he also snagged internships at Marc Jacobs, Derek Lam and Teen Vogue.

In 2006, Wang launched his first collection under the name Alexander Wang his sophomore year and automatically grabbed the attention of everyone from fashions power players, 'of the minute' it girls and the fashion obsessed kids of the world.

To even begin to write a list of his fashion follers would be pointless, ANYONE you can think of, love his collections..

I came to know of his amazing design sense through a favorite model of mine Erin Wasson who is also Alexander's muse and runway stylists, she’s been a favorite model of mine for quite some time and her personal style has always been flawless.

Its no wonder that Alexander and Erin's vision of style would meet eye-to-eye, with his seemingly pure aesthetic Wang's collections have a bit of a street style edge mixed with the 'off duty model look'. From his tank dresses and fabulous cardigans to leather fringe sandals and studded leather bags, the look of his collections screams edgy, but clean and CHIC. I adore his tanks, their so light and comfortable. I'm definitely looking forward to the collections to come..

Shoulder Sex..

As we all know, the shoulder pad's return isn’t exactly breaking news anymore, but it is a trend that I really love so I chose to write about it for this week’s street style entry.

About a year and a half a go, one of my best friends and I were having one of our notorious, late night, power fashion conversations while sitting on his balcony with a few cocktails. Some how we got on the topic of the 80’s power suit, and how amazing it was. At the time, I didn’t really see it returning and being as fabulous as it actually did. The more and more I tried to envision it I kept flashing back to images of the Golden Girls and other late 80's early 90's TV shows with OLD woman.

The more I began to see it emerge the more I began to remember pictures of my mother in her photo albums, standing at 5'11 and 117 pounds in some of the most amazing
80's one-piece mini skirts with insane leather and denim jackets and her high-waisted denim shorts.. I couldn’t wait to see the shoulder pad come back in a major way. Now, it is one of my FAVORTIE trends.. I think it's VERY sexy, and as I've heard before, the shoulders truly are one of the sexiest parts of a woman..

Designers like Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Proenza Schouler, Martin Margiela and Balenciaga have all sent some of the most amazing looks down the runways recently, totally bringing back one of the most talked about "fashion faux paus" of the eighties and I think its glorious, haha..

Celebrities from Rihanna, Beyonce, Victoria Beckham, Lady Gaga, to Lindsay Lohan, Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen and even Mylie Cyrus have all been seen rocking jackets, dresses and tops with shoulder pads of all different shapes and sizes.

I choose to post images showing the style in editorials, on celebrities, and also on the street. I have to admit this will be one trend that I will be very sad to see fade, but as they say, all good things must come to an end. I just hope with the futuristic looks that are to come, a good, strong, sexy shoulder will be something we will be seeing more of in the future.

Christophe Decarnin put what I think is the perfect spin on a oh-so (but totally better) 80's look, with 80's music bumpin from the Dj booth the inspiration is clear. So after a long time of not posting, I've decided to resume Glossy and bring it back to a regularly updated spot to check out the latest and the greatest (in my opinion) in Fashion, Personal Style, Models, Photography and MUST have items on the net.

Currently I'm also working on a jewelry line, Persnickety, which I'm SOO excited about along with a book that I'm working on in my spare time. I decided to keep all of the old postings on Gloosy rather than starting fresh because there are tons of fabulous images, and tons of opinions..

The way I'll be updating with be as follows...

Model Mondays, where I'll be highlighting New Faces along with recent work, including editorial shoots and runway shows, done by the amazing models that rule the industry.

Talk Talk, Tuesdays I'll be discussing anything from current fashion news to bio's on designers and fashion insiders or showcasing art exhibits, or even social events in LA or whatever city I happen to be in, basically since Sunday is the 'day of rest' it'll basically be a day of me, covering whatever I want, haha..

Want It Wednesdays, where I'll showcase some of the current Must Have Items, or just items I think everyone shouldnt be without. Including fashion (duh), accessories, skin care and electronics.

Take My Picture Thursdays, where I'll highlight up and coming photographers, amateur photographers that I adore or perhaps even random pictures I take..

Fabulous Fashion Fridays, this ones obvious, but just incase your running on low, I'll be giving you highlights of current collections, shows and installations from all over the world, or showcasing couture collections we all wish we had in our closets.

Street Scene Saturdays, I'm really looking forward to this set of updates because I feel like so much inspiration is found on the streets, I'll be showing the trickle of fashion's trends from the runways, to the celebs and fianlly to the streets. I always love peoples translatations of what they see on the runway and how it fits into their own personal style.

Shoe & Show Sex, Sundays. Where I'll be highlighting my two favorite things about the industry, Shoes and Shows. Current shows, old shows, all about shows that I love.. And what can I say about shoes, their one of my passions, I'll be sharing new shoes, old shoes, whatever shoes are HOT.

So there we have it.. a rough outline of the format in which I'll be updating the blog that I was once so in love with. Along with the occasional rant of entry here and there.. Never abandoned, just got sidetracked.. And I'm looking forward to whatever may come of it, even if I'm the only reader, haha..

With nothing amazing happening in LA, all summer, we've had to resort to spending time.. with nature. (aka Malibu)
Sadly enough we hardly get anywhere on time, and Mother Nature's parties aren't any different.. We got to the beach at about 5ish.. and it was nice since we were up, up and away from other people.

We drank, lounged and then fell, into the water.. literally.

Sadly i wont be posting any pictures due tot he sheer drunken madness but, it was supa.

Anyway, I'm going to try and keep this up to date. HOPEFULLY, more events will be taking place since my Fabulous Muse, Chloe will be coming back to LA for a few months.
