As we all know, Natasha Poly is one of my favorite girls ever and recently dub'd "One of the most flawless models of recent times" (Models.com) The 5th season exclusive Gucci girl proves shes not slowing down yet. A favorite of photographers and designers a like (she's one of Alexander Wang's muses amongst many others) Natasha is exact in the spot she belongs in as one of the most in demand girls of the runway.
With Steven Meisel's help she has finally made her mark on American Vogue and Vogue Italia. Watch out bitches, the only thing that will get you past this girl are genetics gifted by the Gods.
Love this shoot with Alice Dellal, shot by Sam Crawford (styled by Zara Mirkin). Alice has amongst one of my favorite personal styles ever, and even tho Zara did a great job styling this shoot its not too far fetched from her day to day attire..
Ana Beatriz Barros - Classic Anja Rubik - Best Fashion Body (personal love) Sessilee Lopez - Best African American Model Isabeli Fontana - Body Most Improved Izabel Goulart - Best Walk Edita Vilkeviciute - Best Editorial Girl Alessandra Ambrosio - Best Face of VS (now)
The show was NOTHING without Gisele and Karolina K.. nothing. BUT with Anja in it, I did smile. I LOVE her... and didn't the girl who won the contest look identical to Rosie Huntington Whiteley? YES.
The shows lacking the LUXURY & Glamor that it once had, with the VERY BEST girls (who just so happen to cost more to book... No $$$$$, No Glamazon) The runway and the materials used on the outfits (most, but not all) proved that VS is on a HUGE budget cut ( Unlike Hermes sales up 10% during the "recession" ) They even cut the $5 Million Dollar bra down to $1 Mil..
Sad.. a show that I have on DVD's as gifts from friends ( THAT's how much I loved the shows ) I've stopped watching it with as much enthusiasm as I used too, and this year is the first year that since 2006 since I've watched it on TV on time.
blah blah the show was whatever &)% of the girls were whatever, and i was not liking the concert set up rather than front row being where it should be...
(The picture above is from my FAVORITE year of the show, 2002.. the girls really fucking OWNED the runway, Gisele was fucking MIND BLOWING... and when PETA stormed the stage she busted right threw them like they weren't even there, it was Ah-FUCKING-MAZING.) xoxo
So young, so tragic. Her personality was truly original and her artistic out look on life was so beautiful to see. I've been going through a lot lately, and thinking horrible things but I know deep down it's so worth the fight. RIP Daul.
I've opt'd to posting two of my favorite cover's that Gemma Ward has done in the past rather than recently emerged pictures taken of the model shopping in NYC. Her career was such a whirlwind fantasy that it is so hard to believe that one of fashions darlings has decided to retire. But after recently seeing pictures of her, its no wonder why as she was obviously suffering from serious eating issues during the length of her career.
Her recent paparazzi pictures show her in her full figured skin and it's ALMOST as shocking as when I first learned that one of my personal favorite Victoria Secret girls was stricken with a serious thyroid problem (Karolina Kurkova) Her beauty was unmistakable (regardless of the constant comparisons to Sasha Pivovarova)and she was the first girl to start the "bug eye" trend in the modeling industry. I hope she finds the balance she was seeking when she made the decision to retire so early.. and hopefully some sort of a healthier looking weight balance as well.
Natasha Poly KILLS IT at the 8:29 point in the show for Dolce & Gabbana's Spring RTW 2010 Collection. The model finale sent me into one of my moments of being completely speechless, whilst watching this show for the first time.
I had heard the excited rants of many people in attendance of the show about the closing, because you know my first question after "Who Opened?" is "Who Closed?"...
Finally, a shoot where I actually felt like Stam showed some A game. I'm typically not a huge fan of her's, actually, I've grown to detest her after seeing her at a party where she was wearing sandals and the bottoms of her feet were BLACK, lol.
Shot by Mariano Vivanco for Numero Korea, she proves to probably the only person in the world, (me) that she really does have face.
Natasha adds yet another Vogue cover to her book with Vogue China for October 2009. I really wish we saw more of her on the covers for Vogue US but with American's lame ass need for celebrities on the covers of FASHION magazines, I guess that's less likely to happen. Its actually the first thing I say when I'm questioned about things I don't like about the American fashion industry.
I'm so looking forward to Fashion Week's in Paris and Milan, its when the real models come out to play.
Hitting new stands in NYC September 1oth, MUSE has dedicated AN ENTIRE issue to fashion's (as well as my) personal favorite, Natasha Poly.
Natasha Obsessed is sure to send her even further into the rhelme of the Super's. I've never wanted a magazine so bad, and believe you me, I will have this the day it comes out haha. I knew years ago she would make it, and this issue of Muse just proves it.
Designers like Parada and Givenchy's Riccardo Tisci are head over heels for this 24 year old Queen of the Runway.
Congrat's Natasha!
Set 1: Natasha by Riccardo Tisci Set 2: Natasha by Sølve Sundsbø
Cover's Cover's Cover's! The glossies battle it out for the most anticipated issue of the year, the yearly September Issue. While I would have loved to include a few other covers in this sneak peak, I am one of the fashion lovers who DETESTS celebrities being on the covers of fashion magazines. ( I know, I still included US Vogue and V Magazine covers, but that was a given, especially Lady Gaga) With fashion week just around the corner I couldn't help but feel the need to throw together all of the covers for this infamous month of Fashion.
My FAVORITE girl Natasha Poly, plays the infamous Brigitte Bardot in the recent issue French Vogue. The Blonde Bombshell brings a natural energy to the shoot while exuding pure sex appeal and is nothing short of STUNNING.
The girl on every other page right now is Anja Rubik. The Polish born model has taken flight straight towards the top of every Blue Chip clients, Must Book list and zipped up Models.com's list of the Top 50 working girls.
With legs for days the 5'11 glamazon has the ability to handle so many different looks, her agents have recently decided to take her to platinum blond with whited out eyebrows, giving her that very expensive and tres chic look all of the fashion house's go gaga for.
The 25 year old's list of clients reads like Anna Wintour's phone book.. Balmain, Chloé, Chanel, Tommy Hilfiger, Oscar de la Renta, Versace, Christian Dior, Dolce & Gabbana, Gianfranco Ferrè, Dsquared2, Jimmy Choo, Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Bottega Veneta & Estéè Lauder.. Just to name a few..
With the coveted number 1 spot locked down by Raquel Zimmermann and the 2nd held by my personal favorite, Natasha Poly, coming home with bronze doesn't seem to be as crushing as one would think. I love to see a girl who has been working for a while, take off almost over night, congratulations Anja!

Magdalena Frackowiak is one of the FEW models to top my own personal list of, Must Book Girls for the New York, Paris and Milan shows. Standing at 5'11 its easy to see how this runway goddess takes center stage. From her mile long legs to her to her seemingly precision cut cheek bones , Magdalena has got what it takes to make the Blue Chip bidders holler.
Signed with one of my favorite agencies, DNA, the 24 year old from Poland has sky rocketed to one of the coveted and most sought after spots as of the of the most in demand girls currently working the runway circuit.
I look forward to seeing her smash the runway in next seasons shows...
Mariacarla Boscono has long been one of my favorite girls on the runway, not only because of her killer looks, amazing editorials and SOLID walk, but because she IS a true super model, one who dedicated their lives to fashion. I always feel like the girls who really, reallly love the industry, as a whole and are fashion obsessed, always stand out like a 10 karat flawless VVS diamond in a sea of zirconia’s.
Born on September 20th 1980, in Rome Italy, Mariacarla grew up in a fashion family (her parents created the brand Saucony) that traveled all over the world. Her family moved to Key West for a short time before deciding to move back to Rome so Mariacarla could connect better with her Italian heritage. Shortly after moving back to Rome the family decided to move to Africa and lived in a small village between Malindi and Mombasa.
Discovered over dinner with her family by a family friend, Maria Carla began her career as a model at the age of 17 and quickly became one of fashions Main Muse's, scoring praise from Uncle Karl (Karl Lagerfeld) himself. She’s graced the covers of every major fashion magazine from i-D to Vogue, and has down countless campaigns. In the year 2005 Mariacarla grabbed $3.5 Million bucks for a years worth of fashion work earning her a spot on Forbes List Top Earning Supermodels.
Also in 2005, she walked in over 70 shows and a $15,000 PER SHOW its easy to see she snagged her spot on Forbes. A few of her campaign clients include, but most definitely are not limited to..
Mariacarla Boscono's Spring/Summer 2009 Show List:
-LONDON- Julien MacDonald -MILAN- Moschino Gianfranco Ferré Aquilano e Rimondi Ermanno Scervino Versace Roberto Cavalli Dolce & Gabbana Fendi Etro D&G Gucci -PARIS- Givenchy Rick Owens Balmain Yves Saint Laurent Christian Dior Jean Paul Gaultier
Currently she is the face of Dolce and Gabbana, Givenchy and Farragamo. In an industry dominated by the 17 to 20 something’s, at the age of 29 Mariacarla is definitely a fixture in the industry that I don’t see being replaced anytime soon.
I'm just me, a fashion obsessed kid from Beverly Hills, Ca. Blogging about whatever my mind decides. Also currently working on a book as well as designing a jewelry line that I'm hoping to launch very soon. I live for fashion, nightlife and all things fabulous.
